Ez man 16 months

I didn't think it could get any better with him, but it just continues to get better. He is in a stage right now of babbling all the time. Sometimes it is understandable and sometimes not. But he understands us completely, I'm think.

The other day I told him to go get his trains from his play room and he came out with "The Little Engine That Could". A huge train on the front.

He can consistently find any book we ask him to get. Such as "Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?" That is a favorite for sure.

His tongue is out constantly. I hope I have a picture.

Started doing time-outs. They usually last 10 seconds. Then I make him look in my eyes and we go over what we are not supposed to do ie touch my candles, put hand in toilet, unroll tp, hit baseball bat on the wall... I could keep going. I love this age though, really, it amazes me just how much he learns each day.

Started going to nursery first Sunday we got back in January. We stay with him the first hour and then he is on his own the second hour.

Has been experiencing separation anxiety while at the gym or nursery or when I walk out of the room. Getting better after one week of it being pretty bad.

Some cute words/things he has recently started saying/doing:

Off (sounds like othssss)
Animal sounds (cat, cow, monkey, lion, dog, duck)
Dances his little heart out--mostly with dad (in video below)
Playing for much longer time on his own
Walks up the stairs, with his hand on the wall (about gives me a heart attack every time)
Says "there he is" (sounds like dai-he-iiiiii) when we play peek a boo
Above ^ eats a lime and then hams it up
Loves to give me 7am wake up calls ^ above
Stand at the table and plays with play-doh (I finally caved and got it for him, and it has actually been more helpful for me because I can get a lot done while he is entertained)
Loves to watch dad fly the quad-copter
Copies almost anything we do (today I was taking nails out of the wall and when I was done he took the hammer and crawled on the couch....and then dad took the hammer away before we could watch his attempt)
Officially done with a bottle. We took it away a week and a half ago and he did not even care. Binky and bottle free by 16 1/2 months. Feels good!

We love this baby so much (he will always be my baby even though he is definitely a toddler now). I cut off his curly locks today and almost cried, but he looks so cute, so I guess it is okay.
Love you Jay boy.

Ezzy 15 months

Ezra had his 15 month appointment when we got back from our vacationing in January. I tried to work it so that Kasey could come with me because I knew these shots were going to be terrible. But in the end I had to go by myself and he did better than I expected. He cried but nothing too long or too hard.

My Dr. is so great and he always gives me parenting advice. This time it was all about tantrums and "time-outs" and "time-ins". We usually listen to his advice and in the end it works for us.

Ezzy stats--
Height: 75th
Weight: 50th
Head: "Its like an orange on a toothpick", still huge 95th

He is sleeping great.
1 nap a day usually from 12-3
sleeping at night 7-6 or 7

He is a great eater and a huge goofball. He makes us laugh so much these days! Love my 15 month old.
Can you tell he loves to ride on anything? Bikes, skateboards, scooters, etc.
First time sitting at the big Costco table all by himself. Made him look so big!
Went down the slide on his belly and bonked his head at the bottom. He was smiling the second after this picture, but I was happy to have captured this to send to dad at school.

Bye-Bye Binky

January 24th was a good day this year. It is my best friends birthday and also the day we took Ezra's binky away for the first time ever. I thought it was going to be the hardest thing to happen to all of our lives, surprisingly it wasn't.

The night before we decided to take it away he was awake for 2 hours off an on because he would lose it or throw it out of his crib and cry for it. He kept Kasey up most of that 2 hours and so it was his idea to take it away. The next morning Kase rounded them all up and hid them. At nap time we talked about cuddling with his blanket and then laid him down and he fell asleep like normal and slept longer than he ever has. He hasn't cried once for it and has been sleeping (dare I say) better than ever before.

I can not believe how swell it went. I guess cold turkey for him was the way to go. It has now been a week and three days and he is going strong. We are done for good. Bye-bye binks and bye-bye to my baby. I feel like that was the last thing holding onto his babyhood.

Picture has nothing to do with anything beside to show off his cute face, and a tiger.

Kasey turns 28

Every year Kasey says he doesn't want anyone to know it is his birthday and every year I surprise him with something. He says he doesn't like it and then I feel bad and then we talk it over and then maybe he likes it a little in the end. I told him this time around, he better get used to it because I am not going to stop doing it.

I did refrain from inviting people over for dessert but I did try and round up some guys to meet him at the driving range to golf with him and his new clubs!

On his birthday he went to the driving range twice (Ezra and I tagged along on one of the trips) and we went to his favorite restaurant that we go to exactly once a year, Red Robin (yuuuuuuuuck).  We ended the night with my aunt coming over and sharing some pumpkin cake. We didn't even sing nor was a candle in sight. That shall change come next year, he deserves to be celebrated. He is the best guy around and that is cause for a celebration. Get ready for it my dear sweetie.

Christmas 2015

We felt like world travelers this Christmas. We did a good amount of driving and stayed in 4 different places. We also got to see all three sides of our families on actual Christmas day. It was one for the books.

We started in Yakima for a couple of days where we found that Ezra loves snow. It was really his first interaction with it was so funny. I hate being cold but I don't think the cold affects him because he would cry when it was time to go in--I cry (inside) when it is time to go out! Oh childhood.

We then drove to boise and stayed one night at Kelly and Jenna's who are fully equipped for children even though they don't have kids yet. Such great aunt and uncle!

The Monday before Christmas we headed to Lehi from Boise and on the way we stopped to meet the long awaited and precious Baby Cooper. We love him and his parents!

Monday night we finally made it to Lehi where we stayed until Christmas day. We rented a house with Kasey's family right across the street from Kurt and Elise (kase's older brother), it was perfect. We would go over after putting Ezra to bed and play games or just chat. My favorite night was when we played "celestial companions", boy was that funny-- the newleyest weds won.  In Lehi we got family pictures, played in the snow, Ez played fetch with Bo, the dog, over and over and over, had fun with cousins, ate lots of food (of course), and had the first Hendricks lipsync competition. The Hendricks Cup went to the Kurt and Elise Hendricks clan! Well done.

On Christmas we were up early and woke up to a ton of snow! We opened gifts and the best part was watching Ezra open his 2 gifts we got him: a box of balloons and bubbles.
Then we got ready and headed to Tremonton to see the Sandall family. We met Zae for the first time and Ezra was very timid with all the new faces. Then headed up to Rexburg and surprised my family. My mom's reaction was so cute, it was all worth it to drive Christmas day to surprise everyone. Although, Ezzy was done and was not even excited about opening gifts. He was tired and just as sick of the car as we were. We are looking forward to the day that family comes to us so we don't have to travel on Christmas. That being said, we loved being with family over the holidays!

Mind you, these outside pictures taken in the Rexburg snow, it was -11 degrees, but Ezra insisted on being outside. Such a great dad!
