Did You Know? {Secrets about me}

Did you know....
{Well this post will be all about things you don't know about me that I am so graciously going to share with you. Some things are embarrassing, some funny, and some are just new facts about me, us.}

#1. I recently discovered that I enjoy Seinfeld. Ever heard of it :) Of course you have! Well yesterday I got home from work, Kasey had to go to work from 6-10pm, and I sat down and turned on Seinfeld...
Then I fell asleep.
Until 10:15pm, when Kasey got home.
We were both giggly because I am such a nut to have taken a "nap" for 4 hours.
We stayed up for an hour and I thought I would have a horrible night trying to sleep...
Slept all night and didn't wake up until 7:30am. What a great night.
I loved it. I should probably not do that too often though.

#2. I have colonies of "blemishes" growing on my face, ever since I got off of proactive.
{I speak of it as if its some kind of drug... ha}
So if anyone has any suggestions on how to get rid of these "problem areas"
please share. Thanks.

#3. Kasey only has a couple days left of school and let me tell you he is MORE than ready to cruise. Well, we both are, but he deserves it so very much more than me! We have been looking at the menus online and watching youtube videos about our ship.

#4. The newest secret that I have is... I love
The other night I watched Animal planet for a solid 3 hours. I learned so much, maybe useless, information. It was called "Yellowstone: The fight for life". Since we are going to Yellowstone soon {sometime this spring with our friends SDR and Mac Rae} it was fun to learn about different animals and get excited to go!

#5. Sometimes I don't:
{Disclaimer. This list is slightly embarrassing}
-brush my teeth before bed
-wash my face before bed
-clean my house
{hair is on the bathroom floor, bed not made, dishes in sink, etc}
-decorate for every holiday
-follow through with my plans
-switch over my laundry, I forget, and then I have to re-wash it
But, at the end of the day,
Kasey still thinks I am the
best wife ever.
I love my life.
Even when I am not perfect.
He makes me feel perfect.
Love you Kase.
You are the best. I am the luckiest girl.
Forever sometimes just doesn't seem long enough.
{Oh I'm a sucker for not cheese, thats Kasey... actual sappy romance can you tell?}

The Goods

I want to share a few things that made me smile today.
Its not anything HUGE but its simple little things that make the day better.
Such as:
Walking into the house today to find it clean!
Getting an extra long lunch from work so I could take a little nap
{Did you know I love to sleep?}
Being able to go to Zumba tonight!!
Realizing that our cruise is NOT far from here!

Just some simple things. But here are some pictures of things I really really love as of late.

Monopoly= No Fun
Monopoly DEAL= A whole new world
Have YOU ever played this game?
Well have ya? Ok, if not, go to Walmart within the next day,
buy it,
read how to play it {easy peasy},
play it,
LOVE it!
Then let me know what you think! We sure like it. We played it last night with
{they are too cute and they are getting married, check them out}
and Kyle
{he is getting married soon too and fiance, Katie, is in Utah, that's why he was solo.
They are too cute as well, give 'em a looksy}

Newest of the News

I hadn't gotten new shoes in almost three years.
Good thing I finally got some. So comfortable.
Plus, they are kind of cute :)

That's all folks!

{Off to watch Kaseter play dodgeball. Sometimes it gets intense...}

50.. Great Age {happy birthday dad}

So part of the reason we went to Utah this weekend was not only to celebrate
our anniversary,
to celebrate my Dad's birthday {he turned 50 but shhh don't tell him I told you}

My step mom Teresa did an awesome job with planning the surprise
and had him thinking that they were going out of town.
When he got home from work Teresa asked him to go down stairs and get a suitcase for her
This is what was waiting......

{My beautiful and silly sister Alyssa, just had to be in the pic}
Also note the black balloons and table cloth, he threw out some snide comment
such as: what is this a death party {words are not exact but close}

{we also entertained ourselves like seeing who could keep their celebratory blower things, you know what I'm talking about right?, like this stretched out the longest. My brother-in-law beat EVERYONE by ALOT!} Nice work Dusty!

{The kids finding creative places and way to hide}

{Just waiting. My nieces shoes are too cute eh?}

{This just genuinely cracked me up. It was like this all day and didn't faze him at all.}

{We got the call and we were in places, ready to surprise!}

{We got him good}

{He was shocked and so happy!}

{But mostly shocked! We love you dad!}

{Now for the good stuff. Cake. See 50, you would have found out sooner or later...}

{He may be 50 but he was as excited as a 5 year old. Leading us in the happy birthday song. Note the hand.}

{Blow out all 50! Oh lucky there are only two because 50 would have burnt the cake!}

{But he was so loved that he got TWO cakes. This one is homemade through and through. Frosting and all}

{This is funny. Yes it is dad.}

{See. I told you, even he is smiling about it! What a good sport! }

It was an allover great weekend and was so fun to go and spend time with the "Sandall" family.
We love you guys, although we may or may not have loved all the food you made us eat.
Ok we loved it. Just wish we didn't gain 10 pounds.
Cruise in 3 weeks.
Have a great day! Love you all!

Happy Anniversary/THE new look

One year ago today Kasey and I were doing this...
{we couldn't stop smiling ALL day}

{and doing this}

Our wonderful and beautiful friends

The best photographer at her finest
{Thanks Krista Neeley}

See what did I tell you...

Did I mention how cold it was.
I know, I play it off like a champ.
{Lucky Kase, he had a suit coat, and he is always hot anyway}
You can't even tell.
I think my teeth were chattering here, so worth it.
I love pictures!

Just lovin' life.

Fist pumps.
My fav.
{note: Kyles face,
someone picking Ericks nose,
the two wonderful, supportive preg girls standing next to each other,
and once again,
Us kissin'. That't what you're supposed to do on your wedding day.}

The nieces and nephews, they weren't too happy.

We did it.
We are still so in love, even more so than last March 19th.
Although, we are very happy we are not out in the cold today, taking pictures.
Rather, inside...
But, we do wish we were headed to Jamaica right now.
Think happy thoughts.
{psst, we are going on a cruise in 3 weeks to celebrate}
Happy anniversary Kase and Amb!
{Did I just write that to myself... maybe?}

are you ready for it?
Are you sure?
Do you think you can handle this?
Its new.
Its short.
Its simple.
Its happy.

So maybe we did make a star of my hair.
Pretty long huh?

Now Mr. Kheny himself.
Jk, but it was long.

10 inches later,
oh and 4 hours later...
You have this!
{photos: courtesy of Khen}

I know what you are thinking.
I say to you yes.
mmmm he is good lookin'!

Mr. & Mrs. Hendricks
{one year later and freshly done}

{In memory of our engagements}

awww... I know.

We both actually LOVE our new do's.
Going to take some getting used to
{Like when I go to brush my hair
and I keep goin and there is nothin there.
Or when I go to play with it and its gone.
Or when the Mr. goes to fix it and its perfectly quaffed,
with product and all.
You get the picture right?}

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted and I know I still have to do V-day and birthdays
but hey, at least I got the anni right?
Love you all.

Love, The Hendricks

P.s. We may still be a little insecure so, you can throw the comps out, I'm just sayin.

Is my hair REALLY that long?

This will be a quick post,
to tell you just how long my hair is.

So I have this bad habit of putting my hair
on the walls of the shower while I am showering,
{Yes its 3:30 and I just got out of the shower, Im sick, cut me some slack?}

Well I saw a hair that was real long, like real long.
So I measured it.
Can you Guess how long it was?

10 inches? No
12 inches {a foot}? No
18 Inches!!!

Wow, I guess that makes sense as to why Kasey said to me the other night
"Your hair is getting so long, its starting to look like Pocahontas."

P.s. I started this post at 3:30 and I
took a little lunch break,
sat on the couch,
fell asleep,
and now its 6:00.
How did that happen? I just want to be better so I can stop sleeping so much
It has now been a week, yes a week, and two days since I have been.
Im going to die when I go again!
Wish me luck?

Oh and a little update on Kase.
4 tests this week. Need I say more.
Pray for him.
He is amazing!

What do you do when you're sick?

Things to do while you are sick:
Watch a movie {or more}
so far my choices have been
The Proposal

Italian Job.

A Knight's Tale

I am sure that there will be more to come.
The day is young.
My nose is still running.
Tissues are still piling up.

You get the picture.

while watching The Proposal,
I did two things.
#1. Laughed out loud, by myself, a lot.
#2. Decided I want to color my hair like Sandra Bullocks.
{My sister is going to hate me.
We'll see if I can even talk her into putting these caramel locks of love into my hair.
Britt, I know you are reading this, please think about it :) }

What do you think, they are pretty subtle right? Plus, I haven't done caramel lights in my hair for sooo long. I think its about time to do it again.
I would love your input.

I am sure there are more
movies to come,
bubble baths to take,
naps to enjoy,
and sadly,
water vinegar honey cayenne pepper drinks to consume.
{wish me luck on that one}

Lastly, Kasey got home from work and cleaned
{clearly the house was a mess}
I said to him...

Me: When I get sick I get needy. {I just kept following him like a puppy}
Kase: I know you get "neat-y" thats why I cleaned for you.
Me: giggle giggle
Kase: That was clever, wasn't it.

Oh goodness me I love that boy.
He is my treasure.

All good things come to an end...

I'll make this short and sad {yes I meant to say sad, because its not sweet}.
Daryl was his name.
He looked like this.

He was a great fish.
We had him for a year.
We even had little flat marble things at the bottom of his tank to look like him.
He never asked for anything more than to be fed and occasionally talked to
{which we did do, for we loved him}
We weren't sure when the day would come,
but he had been through a lot.
{he went down the disposal one day while his tank was being cleaned,
no worries, the disposal was never turned on}
So, we understand.
It was a little harder than we thought it would be, but we flushed him.
RIP Daryl Kelly Hendricks
You will be missed and Kasey will now wonder what he shall do in the morning when
he no longer has Mr. D to feed.

Also, Kase will no longer hear me nag at him to clean the yucky bowl.
{Yes, I did love D, I just didn't like to clean his bowl}

"He lived a good life"
{quote by Kasey to my brother Joe, they both had a deep love for him}

You will never be replaced D.

New things I feel in love with today

#1. Trio Bars
The other day at work one of my friends and fellow worker introduced me to these yummy bars
{have you ever had one?}

They are called trio bars because there are
3 different kinds of nuts
3 different kinds of fruits
3 different kinds of seeds.
I liked it a lot and she told me it was a great natural source of protein
me being me, I looked into it more and I found out that they are a product of China.
{Does this look scrum-diddly-umptious to you?}

Now you tell me, how big of a deal is it?
I kept reading things where people said,
"I loved them so much and then I saw that they were a product of China and I
immediately threw them away".

Well, I still wanted to know more, because they are really good and they seem quite healthy so then I found this article

Needless to say, I still do not have a super strong opinion.
After reading the article I feel more ok about it, but then I just don't know so this is
where you come in. I need your opinion.
Tell me what you think.
Help me.
Do I buy some and enjoy every bite, or do I let them be from China?

#2. Arnicare Gel

I just love Arnicare {pronounced arnica.. or so i've been told} gel!
I am a believer.
I am not sure if its one of those things that you have to tell yourself it works,
then your mind plays tricks on you,
and then it works?
But it sure does work for me.

For instance, after running those 4 miles last night, I got home and rubbed it on my
thighs and ankle and
no pain today and immediate relief last night. Try it. I know you will love it like i do!
{If you don't like it don't tell me because then maybe the "all in my head" thing will change
and I like it how it is}

Oh and not to toot my own horn or anything but I did run another 3 miles tonight.
I am serious about this half marathon thing.
Oh ya, you guessed it, just got done rubbin' on the arnicare!

#3. Bubble Baths

This is not something new but it is something I love, and it is almost friday!!
So nice to have some time to yourself to just be.. Relaxed.
I feel that these are needed as desired.
Sometimes it may be more than once in a week,
and other times it could be one in 2 weeks.
{Depends on the kind of week your having}

Here is a fun little "recipe" for some sea salt for your bubble bath!

2 cups of Epsom Salts (magnesium sulfate)
2 cups of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
2 cups of sea salt (sodium chloride)

Each of these ingredients has certain qualities and uses. Epsom salt, when added to a bath, is absorbed through the skin and is known to draw toxins from the body, sedate the nervous system, reduce swelling and relax muscles. It's also a natural skin softener and exfoliator.

Baking soda helps neutralize the acids on your skin and wash away oils and perspiration, leaving your skin silky smooth. It's also useful to relieve itching.

Sea salt helps cleanse pores, alleviate dry skin conditions and soften the water. Although you can substitute table salt, sea salt is preferred because it retains more minerals. Sea salt is available as fine or coarse crystals; either will work, but remember that the larger the crystals, the longer it takes for the salts to dissolve in the bath.

I just found this simple little thing on the internet
{of course}
and I am sure you could add some type of fragrance to it so you not only feel fresh after but smell fresh too!

You Can Do It!! {me talking to myself, and trying to encourage you!}

So, I have this wonderful friend who
stayed by me,
talked me through it,
and supported me in...
running 4 miles tonight!

She is just a doll and I love her {I think she needs to help me more often}.
Time flew.
She works miracles!
Her name is Rachael Vinton.
She is also gorgeous!
{Here she is with her cute hubs on her wedding day, almost 2 years ago! Congrats you two!}

Well, not only did she help me do something I hadn't done in years
{run 4 miles straight}
She also introduced me to something I must use!

Kinesiology Tape
{aka KT tape}

Click HERE to read about it.

Well, the reason I am looking into it is because..
I sprained my ankle a couple years ago and it
now has traveled up to my knee
and to run on it really hurts.
{currently icing}

Oh and I think it will help immensely when I purchase some new shoes!
{I've been using mine for almost 3 years, and anyone that knows me knows that I work out at least 5 days every week}
To say the least, my "miles" on my shoes are really high!
I'm thinking about running a half marathon this spring?
{if it will ever come, spring that is}
Anyone want to encourage and support me?
I am kind of nervous and I am NOT committing to it yet.
But its something I really want to do.
Only time will tell.

Oh and Kase is working his way up to being able to do 100 push-ups without stopping.
My Mr. Strong boy!
Also, he is continuing to study so hard and he is doing so great!
I love this hard working boy!
